Before I ever worked with felt or steam, I taught meditation. My days were shaped by guiding others to stillness and presence. Years later, a skin cancer diagnosis made me rely on those meditation skills and led me to reevaluate my relationship with the sun. As I searched for ways to protect myself, I was surprised by how limited and uninspiring the hat options felt. That frustration became the starting point of this journey.
It led me to an old-world craft that’s slowly disappearing: the art of hat making.
Hat making and meditation share the same rhythm. When I shape a crown, there’s no multitasking, only patience, focus, and the discipline to not force an outcome. I shape, stitch, and finish each hat entirely by hand, respecting the principles of slow fashion and intentional design. I source exclusively from sustainable and ethical vendors, collecting luxury materials from around the world-vintage Japanese silks, up-cycled millinery tools from LA, and rare finds that carry history and soul.
